The wrapping project started as the exam for my A Level evening classes; unfortunately some of the best images aren't available as I submitted all the prints for the exam.

All the objects are wrapped in The Times (at 35p it gives the best coverage!). I started off with street furniture, the culmination of which was the postbox. I can tell you now that wrapping a postbox in a public place is a really great way to meet policemen. Thanks, by the way, to those members of South Yorkshire's finest who let me finish.

The next stage was the chair, which I found dumped a few streets from my door. It was a lightweight cane thing that was easy enough to drag around. The one with the tram tracks (railchar.jpg) looks dangerous, but the tram always comes from the direction I was shooting in, so I had plenty of warning. I was actually more worried about having my gear stolen while I was trying to photograph and watch out for a tram at the same time.

The whole wrapping thing becomes like a sickness after a while; you find yourself looking at everything you see in terms of how many sheets it would take to cover. Nevertheless I'm going to keep on with this project as I have plenty of ideas. Watch this space.
