Jumpers
Oxford, 1999
Early May; during a walk in the park we spotted a group
of teenage lads egging each other to jump off this bridge, into
the river. Suddenly, a group of happy drunken kilted Dutch rugby
players burst onto the scene and took it in turns to make the
leap. As you can see, they went for the full Scots kilt-wearing
technique.
I followed several leaps with the motordrive running,
and two of the frames caught the leaper the instant before contact
with the water, creating the bizarre "walking on water"
effect. I couldn't have done it deliberately in a million years.
